The Huskies love playing away winning their 6th road game of the year by defeating Neptune 8-0. Justin Harnett, Nick Santuccio and Rob Marshall combined in the shut out effort. Dan Incle had 2 hits and an RBI and Anthony Principe added a 2 RBI single to pace the Matawan offense. The Huskies won their 10th April game.

The Huskies shook off a tough loss on Thursday to bounce back with a 9-1 win over there Manasquan. Shawn Johnson pitched an effective 6 innings for the win. Anthony Principe had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Scott Thompson had a hit and played a strong game in the field.


Chris Veary pictured above – delivered a huge 2 out 2 RBI single followed by Mike Denino’s walk off 2 RBI single to win the game after being down 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Shawn johnson led the Matawan 17 hit attack with 4 of his own. Great job !!!


Matawan bats were silent for most of the 18 outs thru 6 innings. But the Husky bats woke up in the top of the 7th. Dan Incle led off with a single and went to 2nd on a wild pitch and moved to 3rd on a Justin Harnett out. Shawn Johnson tied the game with a single and a Pat DePaolo single put the Huskies ahead. Joe Piscopos double gave matawan a 2 run cushion. Mike Creamer pitched the 6th after Nick Santuccio pitched 5 effective innings. Rob Marshall earned his 5th save in 5 tries.

Matawan found themselves down 4-0 in the first inning due to a few miscues but battled back to defeat Ocean Twp 9-5.  Shawn Johnson went 5 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs, 2 earned striking out 2 and walking 3.  Robert Marshall picked up a 4 out save, his fourth of the year.  Matawan had 3 runs in the 2nd and 4th in the comeback.  Johnson also went 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI while Dan Incle and Justin Harnett each collected 2 hits and 2 runs scored. 

Marshall also collected his first varsity hit.  Many Huskies contributed – Justin Henderson had a big hit in the 3 run second as did Corey Nusbaum and Matt Rackett had a big 2 strike hit in the bottom of the 6th where the Huskies added on 2 IMPORTANT RUNS.


Matawan fought back from an early 5-1 deficit to top Red Bank 7-5. Shawn Johnson was strong in relief shutting down the Bucs in innings 4-6. Robbie Marshall earned his 3 save of the year. Matawan scored 5 runs in the top of the 5th lead by Matt Rackett’s one out 2 RBI single. Anthony Principe went 3 for 3 and Justin Harnett had 2 hits and one run scored. The Huskies are now 4-1 and 4-0 in conference

After a tough loss, 2-1, to Marlboro on Saturday, the Huskies bounced back in good form defeating Neptune 6-5.  Nick Santuccio got his first start of the year and performed well after a tough first inning, going 4 strong innings and giving up 3 runs.  Justin Harnett pitched the next 2 to hold Neptune close while the Huskies chipped away.  Joe Piscopo had a one out single in the 6th followed by a walk to Justin Henderson, a fielders choice by Pat DePaolo and Dan Incle being hit by a pitch.  With 2 out and the bases loaded, Justin Harnett came through with a single that plated 2 runs and Incle scored as the throw got by the catcher.  Robbie Marshall sealed the deal with his 2nd save of the season.

The Huskies defeat Freehold Boro 7-4. Justin Harnett wins his second game of the year pitching 6 innings allowing 4 runs all unearned with 8 ks. Mike Creamer came through with a big bases clearing double in the top of the 5 th bringing the Huskies on top 6-4. Dan Incle had 3 hits and scored 4 runs. Robbie Marshall earned his first save.
