GAME NOTES

 

Winning pitcher Anthony Hirujo entered the game in the top 2nd inning to relieve an under the weather starter Adam Elliott.  Down 3-0 Hirujo went the rest of the way pitching 6 innings giving up 2 runs striking out 5 and walking 2.  The Matawan offense woke up in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Joe Piscopo hit an inside the park home run to right field.  Matawan added another run scored by Alex Cella who walked, stole second, took third on a passed ball, and scored on an error.  In the 4th inning Anthony Hirujo helped his cause with an RBI single, followed by a 2 RBI double by Nick Smith and a Matt Esposito RBI single.

 

Neptune was lead by Hunter Daly went 3-3 with 3 RBI for Neptune. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Several Huskies come up big

The Huskies defeat the previously unbeaten ocean the Spartans by the score of two to nothing. Starting pitcher Adam Elliot went 6 1/3 strong innings giving up 2 hits 3bb and 8 ks. Colin Thompson came in to strike out the number 2 hitter and induced a game winning DIVING CATCH by Billy Rodriguez to end the game!!

Matt Esposito had 2 hits and 2 Rbi scoring Alex Cella twice. 

The JV Huskies also won running their record to 6-0, winning pitcher Kyle Gamble

The freshman Huskies also won today vs Ocean their 3rd win of the year

  

Tomorrow situation

jv 10am game at colts neck. – be at hs at 815. Park in front of building because of HUGE number of people attending Husky Relays. 

Freshman and varsity at 12pm. Arrive at hs at 10. Park by tennis courts or drop off in front loop bc of same thing- traffic

Games are still tentative bc if anymore rain falls as colts neck they may have to cancel. When I know – you will find out asap
