The Beat Goes On
Matawan wins another division game behind the arm of Danny Hirujo. Hirujo threw 6 effective innings but also shined at the plate with 2 hits and 2 rbi. Derek Jordan stayed hot with 3 more hits and Jay Kalieta picked up 4 more hits and 3 runs scored. A great team efforts as the Huskies picked up 14 hits.

Sjv vs Matawan on Monday the 30th of April – the game is at 2 PM – SJV is dedicating their field that day.

A Visit to the Shore




The Huskies swept the day series from Shore Regional HS. The varsity came out on top 12-3 behind the pitching of Chris Gendi who worked 5 2/3 innings and Richie Olsen finished off the Blue Devils working for 4 outs. Olsen contributed at the plate with a hit, a walk, a run and 2 rbi. Derek Jordan added 3 rbi and Danny Hirujo had a double and rbi. The team is now 6-3
The JV won again bringing their record to 6-2 with an 11-0 win over shore. Ryan Anderson threw a complete game while Carlos Zeno had a triple, Matt Silva had hit, rbi and a run scored as did Christian Rivera and Timmy Egan.
The freshman team also won bringing their record to 4-2. Luke Elliot threw a complete 5 inning game for the win with Dom Salot adding 2 more hits to his hot streak, Rob Cortopassi had a hit and 3 rbi on the day and Aiden Holeman also added a hit and rbi to the victory.

Danny Hirujo pitched his second winning start of the season in an 8-1 win over Red Bank. Hirujo scattered 5 hits and gave up 0 earned runs on the day. Timmy Egan struck out the side in the top of the 7th to close the door for good on the Bucs.
Griffin Falco had 2 hits and 3 rbi while Jay Kalieta had a hit, 2 rbi, 2 SB and Richie Olsen had a hit, 2 rbi and a steal.
