Senior Day Success

Matawan finds new ways to win! Santuccio, DePaolo and Marshall held Carteret to 2 runs and scratched out 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth for a 3-2 lead. Robbie Marshall in his 3rd inning of work, had a runner on 3rd with no one out in top of the seventh facing Carteret’s 3,4 and 5 hitters and STRUCK OUT the side!!!! What an ending on Senior Day 2013!!!

Matawan battled RBR to a 4-2 victory. Shawn Johnson came up huge pitching 6 solid innings giving only 2 unearned runs and collecting 2 hits of his own. Justin Harnett went 2-4 with 2 RBI. Matawan is now 11-3 : their best start in over 20 years….
Homes away from home
The Huskies love playing away winning their 6th road game of the year by defeating Neptune 8-0. Justin Harnett, Nick Santuccio and Rob Marshall combined in the shut out effort. Dan Incle had 2 hits and an RBI and Anthony Principe added a 2 RBI single to pace the Matawan offense. The Huskies won their 10th April game.

Matawan bats were silent for most of the 18 outs thru 6 innings. But the Husky bats woke up in the top of the 7th. Dan Incle led off with a single and went to 2nd on a wild pitch and moved to 3rd on a Justin Harnett out. Shawn Johnson tied the game with a single and a Pat DePaolo single put the Huskies ahead. Joe Piscopos double gave matawan a 2 run cushion. Mike Creamer pitched the 6th after Nick Santuccio pitched 5 effective innings. Rob Marshall earned his 5th save in 5 tries.
