Winning pitcher Mike Caldon cracked a two-run double as part of a six-run Matawan fifth and a four-RBI game as the Huskies (2-0) rode their late offensive breakthrough to a win over the Hornets (0-2). Mike’s story was written on the mound – scattering 5 hits over 6 innings striking out 6 and walking 1 holding the Hornets at bay. Brandon Falco pitched a scoreless 9th in his varsity pitching debut – striking out 2.
Matawan was led offensively by Luke Elliott and Dom Salot each having 2 hits. Salot had a double & 2 runs scored. This was a total team victory as many Huskies added to this victory in some way.
